Nat Young writes: I have spent many hours looking at this peculiar mountain with its purplish hue. It is a view from Latriggg and is an endeavour to demonstrate the fickleness of the weather, again with light and mist and the invariable cloud cover.

I never get tired of this mountain and love it in any weather fair or foul.

I use watercolour, gouache, oils, mixed media often applied on a collage of torn water- colour paper; applying bold colour and dynamic gestures using whatever comes to hand, an old brush perhaps or a knife, to give an impression both of the subject and my artistic response to it.
