Here in East Anglia I am endlessly fascinated by the great expanses of sky and landscape which still dominate this part of Britain. The extraordinary water meadows around the River Stour in Sudbury, Suffolk still provide me with most of my ideas; nearly all of my print work is dependent on this unique local landscape for a starting point. The expressive branch patterns of an old tree, the soaring perspective of a church tower or the mysterious distances of a leafy footpath never fail to start the process of wresting a hard-won image realised in line, colour and texture.
